Cone & Graham Inc. Awarded Suncoast Trail Pedestrian Overpass Projects
Cone & Graham Inc. is proud to announce that we have been awarded two pedestrian overpass projects along the Suncoast Parkway Trail in Pasco County. These projects, as reported by Tampa Bay Business Journal, will enhance safety and accessibility for the growing number of pedestrians and cyclists using this vital regional trail.
Improving Safety at SR 52 and SR 54
The projects will construct pedestrian overpasses at State Road 52 and State Road 54, allowing trail users to safely cross above high-traffic roadways without interrupting traffic flow. These improvements are designed to significantly reduce conflicts between vehicles and trail users while maintaining existing street-level crossings.
The SR 52 overpass is a $9.9 million project that includes reconstruction of portions of the trail to connect seamlessly with the new structure. Construction began in early 2026 and is expected to be completed in early 2027.
The SR 54 overpass, totaling $9 million, will also include trail reconstruction and is scheduled to begin mid-2026, with completion anticipated in summer 2027.
Supporting a Growing Regional Trail System
The Suncoast Parkway Trail spans approximately 54 miles across multiple counties and is one of Florida’s most heavily used multi-use trails. As Pasco County continues to grow, these overpasses will play a critical role in maintaining safe, uninterrupted access for trail users.
Cone & Graham Inc. is committed to delivering infrastructure that enhances both mobility and quality of life. These projects represent another step forward in supporting safe, connected communities across the region.
