Crane Creek Restoration Project Completed by Cone & Graham Inc.

Cone & Graham Inc. is proud to announce the successful completion of the Crane Creek / M-1 Canal Flow Restoration Project in Brevard County. As reported by News 6 and producer Paul Giorgio, this project represents a major milestone in efforts to improve water quality and restore natural systems in the Indian River Lagoon.

Restoring Natural Flow and Reducing Pollution

The Crane Creek project redirects base flow from the M-1 Canal westward into the St. Johns River, restoring the area’s natural hydrology. By reducing the flow of untreated freshwater into the Indian River Lagoon, the project will prevent thousands of pounds of nitrogen and phosphorus from entering the lagoon each year while still maintaining critical flood protection for nearby communities.

Key components of the work included construction of an operable weir, installation of new pump stations, and development of a stormwater treatment area designed to clean water before it reenters the ecosystem.

Strengthening Environmental Resilience for the Region

Cone & Graham Inc. is honored to have delivered this project in partnership with state and local agencies. The Crane Creek restoration improves water quality, supports long-term health of the lagoon, and enhances the resilience of Brevard County’s infrastructure.

We are proud to continue our role in building projects that not only serve communities but also safeguard Florida’s natural resources for generations to come.
